In the past two years, Covid has really left a serious dark pit to most lives. Life has thrown curveballs to a big number of people around the world and many things about your life are difficult right now. You remember very well how you could do movies all night and ignore a good sleep even when you had heavy eyes full of sleep, let’s talk about having goals, looking forward to the future with some chunks of money thinking of that investment, going for a peace nature walk with your partner or with friends , now all these seem beyond your reach. Your relationships are also affected.
Let’s get some statistics, These days depression affects as much as 25 percent of the whole world population. Few days ago I was checking my phone then a title pops up, An evangelist kills his wife and commits suicide. Is it true to say marriages are under siege, that marital violence is on rampage? Many people are afraid of opening up due to fear of being attacked or judged and all manner of character assassination. To sum it up, fear of the unknown.
Do you know anyone or are you among the 25%? battling depression, fear, anxiety emanating from any sphere of life? Relationship, family, unemployment, post covid challenges, ministry failure and backsliding. I am here so that we can talk. Sometimes we don’t need advice but a whispering tongue to tell us that we are not alone, that all is well and that despite the storm we shall prevail and that building from doldrums is also an option.
Please be caring and share this article then pick your yourself and let us all face this elephant. The way you see the giant makes the difference. First step is to realise that you are allowed to feel messed up, you are not alone, you are human and it’s totally normal. But taking a step towards healing is your responsibility.
Now, in ancient history in a certain village, when an elephant approaches, celebration starts, why? They do not see danger they see dinner, but the same elephant crosses to another village and the inhabitants see death, the difference is in the interpretation of the problem. Someone sees an opportunity to add some calories another sees death. How do you see your elephant? Do you see it as your end or as a dinner? Do not lose weight, ruck up some calories from this elephant and do not feel sorry. Martin Luther once said “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

Can we talk about the prodigal son in the Bible ? Yes, his journey must have been a gruesome one, envisage his daily life, waking up everyday to the filthy environment, pig excretion and their oinking, in fact researchers say the more noisier they become, they are simply saying, “thank you man for feeding us.” Imagine waking up to such a mockery daily, leave alone that, he also got his share from the same diet. How about the smell to a point he was already used to it until the moment he came back to his senses. Majority are so much used to their messes and sadly they forget their true potential. Yea he was in a mess but his identity was clear to him, no one could kill that. Come on, your God is waiting to embrace you and regardless of what you are going through, He says He hears us even before we call on Him.
In the New Testament, Chapters 14–17 of the Gospel of John are known as the Farewell Discourse given by Jesus to eleven of his disciples immediately after the conclusion of the Last Supper in Jerusalem, the night before his crucifixion. Jesus profoundly speaks in John 14:27 and says Peace I leave with you(this is someone who is about to be sacrificed) , He continues to say, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
He knew that the World has a certain kind of peace which is temporary based on what we have. He knew the world is fallen and is the source of all manner of stress. Robert H Schuller says tough times never last but tough people do. We don’t have easy life we only have tougher people. If the situation becomes tough be tougher, if the issue stiffens, stiffen the more.

Look, Your marriage is not the source of peace, look at those who are effected by your state, for the sake of your little ones, you got to cheer up,you got to embrace the situation differently, your relationship is NOT the source of your peace. Do not stick where you are not being valued, you cannot be treated as an option. Move on,Jesus goes on to say after a few minutes. John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”…note He says In me not by yourself or by the world. Now, what else can I add? He is whispering to you, be of good cheer boy, be of good cheer, again I say, be of good cheer. You got to get a grip on yourself and know that Christ got you and he promised to never leave you nor forsake you.
Have you ever seen termites mount a target, how they collectively gnaw away at it until they destroy it, can you get the picture? That’s what negative thinking does to your soul. Embrace a positive thinking , yes I know it is tough, but I am sure you can be tougher, yes I know this is a giant, but you are the first giant that needs to be dealt with. You are the only biggest situation. Once you know the only thing preventing your breakthrough is you, against all odds, you can turn the table , only let Christ Jesus do it through you for His glory. “When you have exhausted all the possibilities, remember this. You haven’t,” says Dr Robert Schuller

The Bible says God knew us and we know that all things work together for good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose(of course you and I)For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son(oh boy) that He might be the firstborn among many brethren(you and I) ..In James.. He says”… count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. There is a reason God had placed the sons of Anak, the giants at the land of Canaan, a serious inheritance can only be guarded by the strongest, they had to guard that land until the sons of Abraham came for it. Go for your peace.
Child of God, instead of doubling your efforts to sort and help yourself, open your heart and embrace what God is doing in you through the person of Christ Jesus. Enjoy Christ, boast in Him and face the giant with the confidence Of a son of God. It is possible to smile again, it is possible to sleep like a baby, weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

If you are not born again, oh my what manner of love is this that Christ Jesus died for you that you may get life. The journey to the healing of your soul is receiving Him as your personal saviour. He is daily knocking on the door. Consider to accept His call and let peace reign in your heart.
